1930s: Lessons Learned and New Lessons Taught

 

Starting in 1930, fewer students focused their theses on the Battle of Jutland, but those that did, chose to tackle particular components--destroyer operations, joint operations, relationships between national strategy and warmaking. The curriculum continued to include Jutland, along with the Falklands, and Coronel, as instructional lessons for the Navy's leaders--including Ernest J. King and Richard L. Conolly.
